a pearl...

...found within the leaves of my white christmas cactus

in february no less... who knew i'd still be getting blossoms off the cactus? i'm thrilled no doubt... because the white had gone dormant - or so i'd thought - mid-january... imagine my surprise, yet alone glee... at seeing this little pearl of a bud hanging out on the leaf... a gift in the making... such sweetness.

looking closer then - i noticed there are actually about 10 buds in all that have sprouted forth... i'm doing the happy skippy dance... for this means i will have wonderful, graceful white blossoms within short order - to enjoy and relish during a time that is usually brown and gray... while awaiting the new season of spring to begin - it certainly has made for...
