Busy day, started with a Children's Centre visit, then Youth Centre, back to the Mothership library, then getting the new library sorted (almost!) then back to Central to help with bed time stories!
Thank God I LOVE my job.
The wonderful grandparents really helped me out tonight, I have to get E to the dentist...despite having no car, being petrified to set foot in one and very worried that I will make my girls scared too...and seemingly if I'm not working I'm ferrying the girls to school / arranging parties!
So had a chat with my (ex) in laws tonight and I heard the words that make a lone parent weep with gratitude..
"Don't worry Kate, we'll take care of it"
I could have cried. WHO AM I KIDDING? I did have a little cry of relief. More because I realised that I can't do everything and it is OK to ask for help and to admit that you have no idea what to do!
[phew]
Actually got the first of my Thank You cards written tonight. Result*
Blip is card that I bought because it reminded me of the Twitter bird. I'm feeling very thankful to Twitter tonight. I liked the little heart too.
It's JUST RIGHT.
*Yes, this is the total amount of my productivity tonight. Which is worrying considering I have a tea / crafting party to organise before Sunday. OH FUCK.
** Soundtrack for today was Camera Obscura
OF COURSE
"Spent a week in a dusty library
Waiting for some words to jump at me
We met by a trick of fate
French navy my sailor mate
We met by the moon on a silvery lake
You came my way
Said, I want you to stay
You with your dietary restrictions
Said you loved me with a lot of conviction
I was waiting to be struck by lightning
Waiting for somebody exciting
Like you
Oh, the thing that you do
You make me go ooh
With the things that you do (you do, you do)
I wanted to control it
But love, I couldn't hold it
I wanted to control it
But love, I couldn't hold it"
