Glorious day

What a beautiful day! Went out for a walk at lunchtime and wished I'd left my fleece behind. The sun was out, it was warm and just about every bird I saw had nesting material in its beak.

Went along the muddy paths and disturbed a woodpecker and some kind of small mammal (don't think it was a rat this time). I took a few pictures as I went round but ended up back at the dogwood hedge (Cornus officinalis) in the car park at work. It was alive with bees and ladybirds and a few odd flies like this one. I'd have been quite happy just to stand and watch all the comings and goings on the blossom rather than going back into the office.

Copy deadline again tomorrow so all hands to the pump.
