What a difference a day (or 2) makes.....

....one day people are being bad to each other and the next day, and not 50 metres away, they couldn't be nicer.

Ok, so many of the traditional local families may have moved on around here in the last decade, driven out by rising house prices and replaced by some 'right-on' young families and singles with pots of cash, but A Summer Day in the Park is a great first shot at bringing together the local people and business.

All my local favourite shops were represented in stalls, i.e. Renroc, Cornellius, Manna House, etc. Met lots of really interesting and friendly new peeps from Sweden, California and Dalkeith (;0) throughout the day. Big chat with a bloke about the self scratching lens of the G9.

Owen and Jacob had a ball playing traditional games, getting wet, sitting in the fire engine, etc.

Chissy turned up to judge the fancy dress and the cooncil turned up too. Funny fate moment; Deidre was the councilor who evicted our residents association from our long standing Monday slot in the Library Meeting Rooms without as much as a by-your-leave or apology (boo hiss), but it turns out she's a long term friend of Mrs Scobes' family. I feel bad for cursing her now.

Anyway, looks like lots of cash was raised and it kept me from my studies so it was all good. I hope it wont be long until they turn scruffy old Montgomery Street Park into Brunswick Greene.
