Photo above is an awful warning to heedless gardeners.

8 or so years ago, in our side garden we planted a sambucus -- OK, a blackish elder. We then bought an inoffensive bamboo plant. (We consulted our neighbour upstairs and she advised us to contain it in a pot. We ignored her advice -- but,hey, we did it politely.)

Now the damn thing is slowly strangling the sambucus.

Moral is akin to : Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is knowing NOT to put it in a fruit salad.
