Write Kind of Rocks
Katie and Gordon writing on the rocks at Belhaven with some sandstone.
Big Writing.
We went out to try out the light-sensitive paper I had bought ages ago. They arranged shells on the paper and we left it to expose for a few minutes, then poured water on to fix the shadow images. We ended up with some blue-ish blobs, which they are very pleased with. Perhaps we'll try leaves and things next time.
Then we walked round the coast a bit and stopped in a sheltered spot for a while - the wind was fierce today. They popped seaweed (bladderwrack I think - Joe will know!), scratched their names on the rocks and searched for hermit crabs. We did find one and Katie sat patiently for a while waiting to see if it would come out - it did a bit, as you can see in some photos on Flickr.
They've spent the afternoon crashing about with their pals, which is all very nice, and I'm fiddling with bikes and generally pottering about. That'll do.
