Popcorn and Toy Story

Perfect Saturday evening :-)

Mr CleanSlate went to watch a football match and whilst the cat's away.... the mice slob around watching films and eating popcorn! Yay.

You nearly got a shot of No.1 son looking incredibly bored whilst waiting for corn to pop in the saucepan. It only took about a minute and a half and he really wanted it, so heaven knows how his brain had time to be huffy about it. But there you have it ;-)

It's been a day full of 'why' and 'how' though. We'd been talking about how vitamins and minerals make you big and strong and my 'D' at biology A-level reliably informed no.1 son that they carry little bits of information into his blood to pass around the body and tell it how to grow properly* So there's a pause, a long weary exhalation and, "Rather than eating vegetables, why don't we write the instructions on a piece of paper and eat that instead? Because we know paper doesn't kill us, don't we?" This follows no.1 son's alarm last week at the younger rascal eating some of the shopping list in Sainsburys. He was assured that his brother wouldn't die and this has given him the freedom to nibble at some correspondence himself - don't ask more :-/

I think it's safe to say my answers are going to have to get considerably better, pretty quickly.... sigh..

*I know it's hard to believe the D ;-)
