Hidden beauty

...my granddaughter gave me these flowers for my birthday.
They were tightly closed buds with no hint of the beauty to come.


Daffodil originates from the Greek word asphodelos. Because the Netherlands produced many of the world's daffodil bulbs, the Dutch "de affodil" may have merged into the modernly used "daffodil."
