The Tree of Life
My daughter is in the hospital. She got sick at home and got bad enough to finally allow herself to be brought in. She's very dehydrated and can't keep anything down. Without the saline drip, drip, dripping into her arm, I don't know how we'd have gotten any fluids into her. Such a simple thing, but so vitally important.
For the picture, I wanted the viewer to concentrate on the image of the IV pole. I made her face as small a part of the overall picture as as I could. I wanted to show that, although she was the one being served, without that simple piece of technology we would have been in a very bad place indeed.
Since this is a back-blip I can tell you that it's all working out OK and she's well on the road to recovery.
