Street party

When you get married in Cambodia, if you can't hire a venue, you get a bright pink marquee and erect it in the street, seemingly at random, but usually sited based on the size of the bribe you have paid to the police. Often busy roads are blocked. Before the pink material goes up, you can just about dodge your way through the scaffolding, but otherwise you have to find an alternative route.

The more powerful a family you are from, the more obstruction you can cause, and people going about their daily business just have to lump it.

This marquee was on aforementioned Stinky River Street. I assume that the family's ability to pay wasn't massive, judging by the way that the stench will turn guests' stomachs.
