Kestrel

Thank you all for yesterday's birthday wishes! Back to the routine now...

I went hunting with the brandnew camera and was very successful: a horse, a white heron, ducks and trillions of very busy ants (not to mention the dogs in all sizes and colours and their owners!) - they all seemed to enjoy the mild temperatures just as I did.

My favorite of the day is this Eurasian kestrel (Falco tinnunculus).
I watched him hover in the sky, waiting for prey and his dives to get it.
When he landed on a tree, I took the chance. Never thought the photo would show anything recognizable, but - surprise - it did.
