Ayiti meets Nederland

Haiti meets the Netherlands.

The Prince Claus Fund (het Prins Claus Fonds), is a dutch fund that supports culture in developping countries. One of their 2011 price winners is the Haitian writer Kettly Mars. In the picture she is giving her speech (side by side to the Dutch flag!).

It was a beautiful cultural evening that made us realize how true the Fund's slogan (Culture is a basic need) actually is. It was great to finally absorbe some great culture again: haitian dance, literature, music and singing accompanied by a Dutch jazz pianist!

Afterwards we were invited for dinner by the Honorairy Consul, the Fund and the embassy.

All in all a very beautiful evening and cool to be talking all Dutch and meet these interesting people.
