This is where the charcoal and fish enters the metropolitan area.

The enormous use of charcoal for cooking is the cause of Haiti's large deforestation problem. Which causes land slides, erosion, etc, etc.

Nonetheless, I found this place to be very inspiring place, full of people that want to make the most out of it and very trade-minded, not something you find everywhere.
