Off-road Drops
The little winter bike at the top of the descent from Pitcox to Biel, with the North Sea and the Isle of May in the distance to the right.
Big Drops.
I got out just in time to have a short loop round the farms and arrive back at school to collect the wee ones from their "Purple Pinky Day", a polio charity promotion which meant wearing purple to school and having their pinky nail painted purple, and paying £1 for the privilege. All in a good cause.
The bike has On-One Midge bars fitted, I put them on over the weekend. These are very wide and shallow and intended as "off-road drops". Some people swear by them, and after you get used to having your head quite low, it's pretty secure with your hands jammed in the hooks as you plummet downhill. I'm not 100% sure about these but it's always good trying something new.
Now for a stir-fry with the Sunday dinner left-overs and rice. I should have bought some purple cabbage to go with purple pinkie day. Actually, I will because purple cabbage juice can be used as a litmus test - it changes colour with acid and alkaline things. Here's a demo. Fun for another day.
