Secret Scotland

This is Abercorn church, stuck in the back roads of West Lothian (nr Newton). The stonework on the outside is dated 1618. but apperently there is a stone inside (the door was locked) that dates back to 1100.
The graveyard is a treasure with many graves dating around the 1600's, and sporting the skull and crossbones, which my dad told me when I was wee meant that they were Pirates.Alas he was either wrong or feeding my imagination as the skull and crossbones were there to symbolise our mortality in the days before reading was common.
