Godley Valley

Out of the blue! My first blip since 18 March. I said I might drop in from time to time.

We had a long weekend at Lake Tekapo. I photographed a friend's wedding there on Saturday and it inspired me to get the camera back out again.

We spent Monday at the Round Hill ski field. This photo is taken looking up the Godley Glacier. A few years back a friend and I put up a new mountaineering route up there, on Upton Peak. We slept under the stars on the Classen Glacier, then climbed the Explorer Glacier and up the flanks of Upton to the ridge, then along the ridge to the summit before reversing the route. Ahh, great memories.

Oh - I just realised - one year ago exactly I posted my 7th Blip entry in the same place!
