Curling Thorns

I don't know what this is, but I rather liked the look of it. I opened the aperture as wide as I could and clicked off a few shots. This was the first, and the best - which pleased me.

Here it is large. I cropped to 3:2, sharpened, and added a little bit of an overlay layer.

Today I was rudely reminded that sleep is an (odious) necessity: Mstr 4 awoke with a nightmare around midnight, a little after I went to bed, and before sleep claimed me. He couldn't settle other than with us, where he proceeded to imitate a rotisserie chicken - non-stop for the spent six hours. Toothpicks in the eyelids this afternoon.
