Day 1 - Oregon Vacation

Today marked Day 1 of our Oregon Vacation. We have been looking forward to this for quite some time. It has been 6 years since we have been there (I was pregnant with Landon the last time we had been). It always holds a special place for us with family vacations, treasure hunts on the beach, relaxing, playing games and just being with family sharing uninterrupted time that is not common in our busy lives.

Gary was nice enough to make a recap of each day when we returned so that I might be able to journal where we stayed, what we did, etc. So here it is:

*Drove to Grants Pass
*Stayed at La Quinta Inn
*Ate Taco Bell for lunch and then went to Riverside park
*Ate Sunflower Thai for dinner
*Boys and dad played in hotel pool and hot tub

We decided to make the drive to the cabin a two-day trip so that we could stop and smell the roses. Once we arrived in Grants Pass (about 6 hours later) we headed to Riverside Park (our favorite park in Grants Pass) after having lunch. I think the merry-go-round was the hit since you just don't see those anymore. We spent quite a while there playing and then piled back into the van to head to the hotel. Once Landon was no longer in motion and buckling into his car seat, I saw a puzzled expression as he grew green. I recognized that face, quickly unbuckled him and carried him to the nearest tree where he upchucked all of his Taco Bell lunch. Apparently he liked the merry-go-round, but it didn't like him. :-/ Poor guy felt a little better after that but took a while to feel back to normal. As you see in this picture, I hung a handle of a Target bag from each of his ears in case the case of the 'green' came back. Once at our hotel, the boys had fun swimming in the hotel pool with daddy.
