I mentioned these little daffodils in my journal yesterday and simply couldn't resist them today!!These little miniatures are only about 15cm high and they are among the first of all the daffodils to appear.

The keen eyed will spot some sunflower seeds lying on the ground beside them. The seeds have fallen from a nearby bird feeder which hangs from a branch on one of the apple trees, but nothing is ever wasted. The garden birds were feeding really well today. As soon as I had poured water into the little bird dish which sits on a small table on the grass, two chaffinches flew down to drink. There are collared doves in my garden vicinity and I always enjoy seeing them. They arrived too and were soon busy pecking at fallen seeds in the grass. Not long after that four plump wood pigeons appeared and they too found seeds to eat although they looked as if they had already dined rather well. One of them flew up to land near the water dish. He was a comical chap, head nodding, beady eyes missing nothing, wondering if it was safe to step forward to drink, when suddenly, to some invisible signal they all took off!
