Weathered

I go to a lovely old building to paint one afternoon a week. Beautiful on the outside bloody freezing inside.

Today's blip is a close up of the weathered Old Red Sandstone that it's built of. Most of the houses round here are sandstone and sometimes the colours are wonderful. They can be virtually purple to a light red and some have small stones embedded in the sandstone - not that that makes for good building stone.

Geology is wonderful - especially round here.
