Another survivor
The fog lifted, the sun shone and I went out into the garden cum building site. I was passing a pile of old roots (these were dug up during the digging of the footings for our extension).
The heap was at least a foot high and about eight feet wide and there, in the midst of the tangled mess, was this lovely crocus. It shone out like a beacon and must have a stem of over a foot in length.
It really cheered me up and reminded me that perseverance often pays. There were also some snowdrops struggling out on the other side of the heap but as the crocus was the first of its kind, it won the blip .
