Is Spring nearly here ?

Glancing out of the window I saw our first ducks in the garden. Once a trio, of two drakes and one duck, now a duo; one duck and her mate ! They meandered through the garden peeking into shrubby and hedge-y bits I think looking for a nest sight. Malard mating can often be rather rough and pairing disputes often go on long into the season. This pair are very gentle with each other and I hope they stay together to raise a family.

The day was very drab but I thought they deserved a blip with him showing off his curled tail feathers making me smile.
