93 Years Young

I got some sad news today. When I picked up my grandma from her hair appointment, her hair dresser called me in to tell me something after my grandma had already gotten into the van. Her hair dresser, Donna, has been doing my Grandma's hair for years. Each Wednesday I take her there to get 'prettied up', as it's so common of that generation to have their hair washed/styled each week rather than to wash/style it at home. Donna's new was that would no longer be able to work because of a new diagnosis with an agressive form of leukemia. Tears welled up in her eyes when she gave me this news. My heart breaks for her and her upcoming battle, as she is going to have to stay at Stanford while undergoing all of these treatments. I know she lost her husband to cancer years back, so she doesn't have the support of a spouse to endure the road ahead. :-( After hearing this news I was reminded that life is short and we don't know what lies ahead, so I felt it important to pull out my camera and take this shot of my Grandma....at 93 years young.
