It is Friday!

Last night I was apprehensive with the anticipated challenge of painting Geni Lamb's amazing red hair as she was billed to appear at Burgundy's. My painting skills have previously let me down as I get mesmerized by her vibrant red hair as well as her awesome sax playing. It was mixed feelings when I learnt that Geni was unwell and had not travelled up from Liverpool.
But then I heard great sax riffs - it was Eric with his silver sax and instantly I thought that he would be a great guy to paint. He was the Geni substitute, and a great one at that, that John McCormick had brought up from Liverpool. John was on double bass, the talented Mo on guitar and Ted, the leading light of jazz at Burgundy's, on drums.
In fact I settled down to sketch John first - his jazzy hat, big specs and double bass were just so inspiring. Eric Animan was my second half sketch - he was a slick professional and introduced each number with his French/Swiss accent that brought a new perspective to some well known numbers. His sax playing was awesome and quite incredible that he had not played before with Mo and Ted - what talent these guys have. Meanwhile John's bass solos left my paint brush quivering!!
