Platform 6
A friend has recently published two novels and I was delighted to supply photographs for their covers. Here is the first of those. And here is the second.
He tells me his latest book will culminate at Manchester Piccadilly railway station, so I went there today to take some shots for possible covers. This is one possibility.
On my way there, walking by the tram tracks between office buildings, I paused to take a casual photo or six. A security guard bustled over to tell me the owners of the area do not allow photographs. I said "but it's a public place." He said "no, it's private property." I told him I thought this was ridiculous. He said I could go and discuss it with the management company. I declined.
I can only assume they fear that too many photographs will seriously deter businesses from taking leases of office space in the area. Half the buildings were totally empty. The company are called Argent.
