From a height
Carl's Kino was on tip-top form this morning. A good while ago, I'd seen a trailer for Did You Hear About The Morgans, took a fancy to it, and suggested to Carl that he got it for his Kino. He did so, though reluctantly, since the film had got pretty rotten reviews at Rotten Tomatoes. As it happened, we both quite enjoyed it, and were particularly impressed with Hugh Grant, who isn't normally one of our favourites.
There was no dispute at all about our second feature, which was the utterly marvellous Senna, the much talked about documentary about the racing driver. It's astonishing, and deserves all the accolades it's received. A documentary to change the way we think about documentaries.
I somehow dragged myself away after that, though Carl would have been quite prepared to put on something else. Rather than go straight home, I went instead to Killiney Hill and climbed to the top. It was a lovely day, and the place was swarming with like-minded people walking and climbing and taking their children and their dogs for a healthy ramble. This is the view down over Dalkey, with Dalkey Quarry in the foreground where a abseiler was getting ready to do his stuff. After this refreshing breath of fresh air I made my way home for for rest and relaxation.
