Mormon Temple, Chorley

When this Temple was build in 1998 I believe it was the biggest outside Salt lake City. It certainly is an impressive building and I'm afraid the photo doesn't do it full justice.

It is set in beautiful, peaceful gardens and it is itself a beautiful building from the outside. One can only imagine the beauty on the inside of it.

Before it opened there was an apportunity for anyone to visit. Now it is only open to Mormons who have been granted permission to attend it.

I got through the front door but it was clear from the very nice man on the reception that I was going no further than that.

Anyone can walk into an Anglian, Catholic or Methodist place of worship and it would have been nice to be able to look around and gain a better underestanding of The Mormon Faith. But that is the Mormon way so I accept and respect their position.

I only got a walk round the outside and up to the reception and felt an inner calm. So the calm further in must be awesome.
