After the rain

Today has been a strange sort of day. I awoke to a cup of coffee in bed and the news that the central heating had broken down. On going downstairs into the kitchen, I looked out and saw a siskin on the feeders - a first sighting for the garden bringing our visitors list to 20. Later, a friend came to visit - a great treat to catch up with her, then the gas man cometh and fixed the heating. the weather was mostly pleasant, and so I did a small amount of pottering in the garden once a sharp shower had passed, and even got out my macro lens for the first time in ages to capture the raindrops on the back of this hellebore.
