Local Mountain

Taken atop Ben Rinnes over 2,500ft and a Corbett, not a Munro, I have lost count of the number of trips up there particularly this winter. Probably the most distinctive hill in Moray as it is a huge Granite outlier of the Cairngorms that sits almost alone. Two winters ago I skied up and down it ,a brilliant ski hill. Today was part of my recovery, its actually one of the easiest hills due to the impressive path (with steps) that the friends of Ben Rinnes have made. Great views of the Hills of the North East Bennachie, the Buck, The Bin of Cullen, the Knock the Convals, Tap O' Noth, Corryhabbie, and south to Ben Avon, Ben a' Bhuird, Cairngorm and even Lochnagar, North To the hills of Caithness and Sutherland Morven in particular. Its an astounding view of Moray , the sea and the Grampian mountains. I dropped my son off at his Duke of Edinburgh Award training session and was early picking him up, picked some flooring and a shower unit up for our planned home improvements. All in all a full day
