Ingleborough

Bonkers weather this weekend. Yesterday we were with the Junior Squad training in the southern Lake District (see here!) We arrived in miserable rain, on the dot of 11am (thankyou Paul the Weatherman) the sun came out, then early afternoon a sudden wind arrived from nowhere and a hailstorm hit us. I caught up with Earthdreamer today in the carpark after our orienteering event and he showed me the marks the hailstones had made on his arm during the fell race on Black Combe!
Today friends arrived at the Whitbarrow event from Yorkshire having driven through a snow blizzard! Luckily the weather picked up as we walked up to the start and we had an enjoyable time on top of the Scar. Afterwards a sociable cuppa with friends in the Hideaway Cafe and then we headed home. I was hoping Ingleborough would have an icing topping and it did not disappoint.
ps gladders did you see me wave from across the estuary yesterday evening?
