exploring some old territory in a new way
With my camera in hand, I went exploring in the French Quarter. So fun! I really never do anything like this when I'm in New Orleans as we're usually busy doing things with and for Gran or for the holidays. But when I got to NOLA on Saturday I found myself with some free time in the afternoon while Gran rested. I needed to go to the grocery (and I did), but I thought I would also have time to fit in a quick trip to the Quarter to see some art of my friend Nancy's sister (and I did). Before I wandered into the gallery, I strolled around the Quarter taking pictures of things that were interesting to me. In addition to the cheerleaders (there for a competition of some sort) and the runners (there for the NOLA Rock and Roll Half Marathon/Marathon), the French Quarter was teeming with subjects for photographing. Many of them inanimate. All of them colorful and interesting. I could post a week's full of photos from this one day. But this was one of my favorites.
