I took advantage of a moment of sunshine to nip out with the camera. Unfortunately it was only a moment so I got soaked. But not as soaked as these guys, presumably as they are working on the new "affordable" housing on the edge of the village. A black and white image suited my mood!

Not so black and white is the issue of rural affordable housing. I have really mixed feelings about how effectively public money is used in this area, it often feels like tinkering around the edges of a much bigger problem - high house prices and the lack of a properly regulated rental sector. A bit of a hobby horse of mine, so I won't go on any more.

The good thing is these look like well constructed homes, fit with the local architure and all have photovoltaic panels. they'll have fabulous views too.
