LADYBIRD
Ladybird, Ladybird
Fly away home.
Your house is on fire.
And your children all gone.
All except one,
And that's little Ann,
For she crept under
The frying pan.
The grimmer version
Ladybird, ladybird, fly away home,
Your house is on fire,
Your children shall burn!

Meanings??? There were superstitious beliefs that it was unlucky to kill a ladybird, and that the verse would make them fly off. Another superstition states that you should chant the verse if a ladybird lands on you: if it then flies away again, your wish will come true.

I saw this ladybird on a wall as I was passing by. Remembered the rhymes we all used to chant when we were children.
Went to Gateshead today to pick up an order from Tesco. It was a few items of clothing for myself but when I tried them on at home they were no good - will send them back tomorrow.
### Neil update. Still in Melbourne. Finally found another job. He is working in a factory sorting clothes out ready for packaging. Job is for one month. He's hoping to save up enough money to go over to New Zealand for a bit.
