Purple is the Color!
Living in the Finger Lakes of New York State, one sees acres and acres of vineyards. The lakes were "cut" into the hills, so each lake is surrounded by gently sloping hills. And, those hills are prime for growing grapes.
If one tours the Finger Lakes, it is possible to see literally dozens and dozens of wineries and micro-wineries! In fact, there are wine tasting tours offered in the region.
So, you get the idea.
Let's move on to the Village of Naples. In this village, the fire hydrants all sport a lovely shade of "grape" purple. Some homes have purple shutters gracing the windows. Grape garden flags flow in the breezes and one can find grape-themed whatnots in stores. Yes, purple is a favored color in the Finger Lakes!
So, why would one be the least bit surprised by a grape....er, purple dumptruck?
