Bye bye blackbird

Out for a walk on the South Downs. The forecast for the weekend looks pretty good and today was mild but grey, so not a great day for photographs. But coming towards the end of the walk I saw this blackbird on top of a bare tree (a willow?) and really liked the sparseness and shape of the tree. So a bit like yesterday's tree/sky shot, except there was no colour in the sky today.

After I took this we sat and had our sandwich lunch on a bench outside a village church, with drinks from the local pub. Simple pleasures...
