Oi, you!
Had a really good walk today near Balcombe in Sussex. It includes a footpath that passes through Wakehurst Place, a National Trust estate that also includes the Millennium Seed Bank, partnered with Kew Gardens.
I've got a bit of a grudge against the NT. The public footpath runs right alongside the main building and cafe. There are wooden benches outside. Last time we were there we stopped for a cup of tea, sitting outside with the dogs on leads. A rather officious person came out and told us we had to stay on the footpath, a distance of about 50 yards from where we were sitting, because of the 'no dogs' policy. As Rufus might say: Grrrrr.
So we had afternoon tea at a more dog friendly place today. But I did spot these cute garden sculptures at Wakehurst Place and risked the wrath of jobsworths by straying off the path to snap them!
