So many great dishes start with this duo. It's undoubtedly the most used implement in my kitchen. I love the taste, smell and satisfying crunch when you push it through the press. I really like the warmth of the colours of the bulb against the starkness of the press, along with the fragility of the skin of the bulk against the steeliness.

Having got home around 11pm last night, hubby was up at 5.30am to leave for a boys weekend in Dublin for the Six Nations game - "ships that pass in the night" springs to mind.
