Laser Quest
Today is my friend ickle S.'s birthday and she chose to go to laser quest followed by a meal to celebrate.
So after work I navigated the random bus routes due to tram disruptions up to Dalry. I was not confident in arriving on time due to a major blonde moment at work earlier in the day which then saw me and my service user doing a major dash (fast paced walk) across town to a meeting. Luckily we had arrived at the wrong place super early so ended up being only a little late to the correct destination!! (Now I shall have to hide my face in shame from that agency's staff for ... oh, maybe the next 5 years!)
Anyway, I digress...
Laser Quest. I have not done this since I was about 15 with my Ranger group. Despite my rather dodgy eyesight, I have a slight talent for shooting games. At the age of 17 I shot my first gun and won a competition for girls... but also beat the boys scores to boot! My dad's face went a little pale when I proudly showed off my paper targets when I returned from that camp. I'm not sure whether I should even call it a talent or just flukey luck. I will admit I get rather competative. I often put this down to being a Taurian born in the year of the Ox.
Overall I found the experience quite good fun, and was proud of my overall results. I ended up 4th overall. I would like to give it another go with other friends, as I wasn't quite feeling the team spirit as I went with S's other friends and work collegues whom I mainly don't know particularly well or had never met before. It was defo good value for money (£11 for 3 games/£10 for 3 games with a student card).
Afterwards we headed up to Tollcross to Indaba for Tapas. I hadn't had tapas in absolutely ages and was quite looking forward to it (£15 each for 7 different dishes). I especially enjoyed the aubergine wrapped around feta cheese; chorzio; and spannish omlete. I even felt brave enought to try calamari but fish dishes are not really my thing. I would have taken photos but my phone had died by this point.
Overall a great night - Happy Birthday S!! =)
