Always inconstant...

Put your foot there...

After meeting the guys yesterday, a hearty breakfast and packing every one into cars we headed off SNOWDON to walk the horseshoe.

Some of the less experienced were a little nervous at the thought of the route as they had heard horror stories....

The day was misty, wet and blowing a little. We set off and the sun started to shine, wow, could it be that we would have a view from the top?

NO! The mist came in and the mountains disappeared. The going was a lot slower than we had expected as the Grade 3 scramble threw its best at us. I loved it, it was like I was climbing again. The thrill of finding foot/hand holds was brilliant. The speed that we were moving was too slow and the more experienced of us got together and devised a new route. It was miserable along the ridge and the air was cold and we were blasted to bits by the wind. Hoping that the cafe would be open to get a warm cup of tea we reached the top.....cafe closed....very wet and cold people.....only a couple of hours daylight left.....it was time for some very positive action! We marched everyone down!!!!

We all had the best of days, for some it was a fun time, others...challenging, some...found the whole thing demanding and to be frank, the hardest thing they had ever done!

We came off the mountain having done Crib Goch and the summit, we walked down chatting and enjoying the scenery as the sun went down.

A shower and some food and many beers followed.....Mountains, friends, food and beer.........heaven!
