Eye Eye
Today was a great day.
We decided to take a trip to London and take the boys for a mini sightseeing day. St Albans is an easy train/tube ride away from London and as yet, apart from R going to work everyday, we haven't utilised it much.
So, we hopped over to Westminster, took in the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben before heading over to the London Eye. The 3 boys then went on the Eye whilst I went off for a coffee. I know, I know, it's not scary, it moves slowly, why did I not go on too? If you understood the level of my virtigo, you wouldn't ask. I might have gone on if I'd been allowed to stand in the pod and see what I thought of it, but of course you can't do that - you buy a ticket and you're on! Anyway, they loved it and were full of stories when they got off. We then walked over what I think was Jubilee Bridge and up to the Strand and hopped on a double decker at the request of the children to find somewhere for lunch. Then we walked up The Mall to Buckingham Palace before grabbing a cab to the tube and head home because the C was tired.
It's ridiculous that prior to travel/kids, I lived in London for so long but very rarely went out and about to see the sights apart from in the evening after a few beverages!!!! I love London, I adore the architecture and the scale of some of the buildings and it's got a great vibe.
I look forward to many more trips .....
