BIRTHDAY GIRL!!!

Amelie monster turned TWO today! I really don't know how this has come around so quickly. On one hand we have a very grown up little lady who is definitely ready to be two and on the other, it just seems like yesterday she was staring at me for the very first time. I'm quite sure I'll be saying the same thing when she turns 20.

Anyway a most enjoyable day was had by all. Last night we moved Amelie's ready bed into the living room (where Chris and I were sleeping) so that she could wake up with us. We pretty much had to wake her up though as we had asked Nana and Dadcu to be with us for 7 so she wouldn't have to wait to open her presents. She opened quite a few but she opened the good ones first so was busy playing with them for ages. Eventually they were all open and we had breakfast. Nana, Dadcu and Auntie Emma with the twins all went to visit Amelie's great Uncle Stephen (Nana's brother) and that left us and Granny and Papa to get the flat ready for the party. They ended up taking Amelie out for a walk so she could have a sleep in her buggy and then everybody arrived back together. Louise, Lewis and Rose arrived soon after.

My favourite part of the day was seeing the excitment on her face when she saw her candle on her cake and everybody was singing happy birthday to her, she absolutely loved it. It just makes me a little sad for her that it only happens once a year! She looked so happy!

Everybody pretty much seemed to leave at once, which upset Amelie, and she went with Chris to take Granny and Papa to the airport. I took the opportunity to tidy up and so once they were home Amelie and Daddy sat and played with the new playmobil then watched a Peppa Pig DVD.

There was just enough time for a bath with Mummy before putting on her brand new Peppa Pig pjs and zonking out in bed.

She has received loads of lovely gifts today. We gave her a beanbag, jigsaws, new playmobil, a new baby(a boy), an outfit and a wooden birthday cake. From Granny and Papa she got a watch (which she loves), puzzles, a lovely bag of bear stories, an outfit, new teddy soap and socks. From Nana and Dadcu she got a CD player for her room (so we can take our digital radio back!), Elmer puzzles, several outfits and her finished lovespoon (photo to follow). As well as this there is a huge pile of lovely clothes, a singing puppet, a flippin' puppy, a peppa pig tent, hairclips and lots of money. Phew, very lucky girly!

Chris and I are exhausted and bed with fresh sheets is definitely calling!
