back-blipped

We went a visit to a nearby Zoo today. Not a big Zoo like Edinburgh (the only Zoo I have ever been to!) but a much smaller Zoo, which was still actually quite big just with added Thomas Train and less animals (and more rabbits).

Amelie was very serious all morning, none of us had a particuarly good sleep last night and she had been late in bed, and not even a ride on Thomas could get much of a response out of her. It wasn't until we started playing the poke your finger through the hole in the table game after lunch that she really perked up. It was, apparently, the funniest thing ever. Her twin cousins however, bawled their eyes out at the sight of the little finger poking through the hole.

Despite Amelie's earlier reservations, we all had a lovely day and returned home tired and happy. All three children were in bed early (actually, thinking about it, thats a lie. Amelie was quite late as she had fallen asleep in the car on the way home) and we enjoyed chilli I made yesterday and nachos. And then we all had an early night too, bliss. (But not until I'd blown up loads of balloons, laid out presents and transformed the living room into the happy birthday room)
