inspired by old clocks

I am not the only one to be inspired by old clocks.

This one started its life by the roadside at Shap Fell as a smart piece of advertising. Leyland erected it there in 1931 when cars passed by at a more sedate pace, no doubt. In 1973, it was brought to its present site at 'The Brewery', Kendal's prestigious arts centre. Fifteen years ago, when it must have been looking rather tired, a group of enthusiasts restored it to its former glory to celebrate 100 years of British motoring.

It might not be so well travelled, or as old as my grandfather clock, but impressive, non the less.
