inspired by 'communal gardening'
I was going to share a photo of a worm with you. I have never seen so many as there are in our garden. I decided in the end you might prefer to imagine it and see my gardening gloves and trowel instead.
We have spent the afternoon in the front garden preparing the ground for raspberry canes. Adrian has taken some persuading that this is a good place to plant them.Unconventional, perhaps, but the soil is good and the area much sunnier than the north facing back garden.
It has been a most sociable afternoon. We live in 'bungalowland', at the end of a crescent and the warm weather has enticed us all out into our gardens. Our house deeds say that hedges are not allowed in the front, so, it almost feels like working on an allotment. Numbers 23 and 26 are cutting their grass, number 22 is cleaning his gutters and number 21 is weeding his flower bed. Polly from number 25 is just taking a walk to say hello to everyone. What a lovely way to get to know our neighbours.
