Down on the Farm

The birthday boy turned 2 today. He woke up in a foul mood, so his mother put him back to bed after doing the school drop off, and her and I took the Youngest shopping for her belated 6th birthday present. The Youngest is still a bit of a novice at the whole HUGE toy shop phenomenon, so it was quite a lengthy visit to Toys R Us at Teeside Park.

After a good 3.5 hour nap, the birthday boy woke up in fine fettle. We went mid afternoon to the Farm, where the grandparents live. They were like surrogate grandparents to the girls while we lived in the UK and nothing has changed.

The Youngest got her fill of dogs, with Ruby and Tess the Springer Spaniels. There was even a lamb to coo over. There were guinea fowl and chickens. Plus Uncle Maurice got out the quad bike and hooned the kids all around the farm, well until he was too baltic freezing to continue.

We had a big birthday tea for the birthday boy, and then he blew out the candles on his owl cake.
