Running late?

A late godwit still on the estuary. There are actually quite a few of them when you look, and I know some stay over winter. This guy was very busy feeding, maybe fattening up for the big flight? Their beaks are incredibly long, but they use the entire length to get that tasty morsel as you can see this alternative shot. Looks like a crab, but its actually a little wormy thing and strands of gooey mud - yum!

By the way, for those that are interested, the DRA went well yesterday. Wearing my Engineer's hat, the structural damage, some of which is potentially hidden, and difficulty of access all acknowledged and noted.
