It's Friday!

A new group last night at Burgundy's, the Mervyn Bean Quartet all the way from Barrow and Ulverston to bring great jazz to Burgundy's. This is Mervyn himself on trumpet. Quite a challenge as rarely could I see his whole face as his trumpet was continuously covering part of it!! Great trumpet sound though and inspirational solos. So there was no alternative but to sketch his face around the trumpet! And everytime he put his trumpet down, his lead guitar Peter Kassell would take over with awesome guitar playing and I tried to capture the intense concentration that went into his playing.
And the lovely Irish Siobhan asked if she could buy the sketch I did of her when she was listening to the jazz at a gig last year. I need to get better at parting with my sketches - I just find it so difficult as they are something that I have intensively enjoyed doing and this is one I particularly like. It will go to a good home!!.
