Lathyrus Odoratus

Founthill

Drizzle and mist greeted the spaniel and I on our early morning walk down the lanes and across the typical heavy Wealden soil to Newick and back. We have been left to our own devices today as Mrs L has taken our daughter to London for the day. She's going to be doing work experience at London Zoo in the summer (the daughter not Mrs L) and wants to have a mooch around first and then they are going to see a musical. Meanwhile the spaniel and I can plant out the sweet peas (mist and drizzle are the ideal conditions), watch the rugby and bake a cake.

Quite exciting phone call late yesterday afternoon when SWT took up my offer to undertake a butterfly transect survey from April to October in one of the local woodlands. I'm looking forward to showing them the proposed site next week.
