THIS is it.

The odd one or three will, no doubt, get a bit fed up of me screeching ''There is one ONE  lake in the lake district.'' And this is IT.

I get fed up, myself, of hearing folk talk about Lake Winderlake, Lake Thirllake, Lake Coniston Lake, etc. This IS IT ... Bassenthwaite LAKE.

Got that???

The undistinguished heap to the left is Skiddaw. The one I described as a ''Gurt Shilly Heap''.
Which I, always, thought of as one of the ''Four Threes'', i.e. Big heaps over 3,000' high ... Skiddaw, Helvellyn, Scafell and it's Pike.

That is until I looked  here  (Renewed link, this one only acknowledges FOUR) where, after 60+yrs, I discover they think there are SIX??? 
Seems THIS lot agree with me = 4 of them.
