Heron on pergola

Yesterday I displayed the first frogspawn this year in our little pond. From time to time the water is moving heavily. The male chases the female and tries to restrain her.

That doesn't go unnoticed. The sharp eyes of a heron flying overhead have also observed the movements. I captured him when sitting on a nearby pergola, taking the situation into consideration.

We'll have to take care that the heron won't come into the backyard. However, you can't really stop the bird when it necessarily wants to get its prey ... What rests is hope, against all odds ... ;)
